
Guangzhou, August 24 - Guangzhou held a mobilisation conference for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games at Guangzhou Gymnasium on Tuesday (August 24).

Zhang Guangning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, addressed the conference and required the entire city to make every effort to ensure successful Asian Games and Asian Para Games and carry out its commitments to all Chinese people and the international community.
Wan Qingliang, Deputy Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Guangzhou Municipality, officiated at the conference, which was attended by more than 10,000 people, including Games organisers, government officials of municipal, district and county levels and representatives from various social sectors.
The representatives made pledges to serve the Games on their own positions and contribute to a sporting gala that will be remembered for its security and low-carbon operations as well as the hospitality and civilised behaviour of its hosts.
