Canada, August 24 - The 2010 International Cycling Union (UCI) Para-cycling World Championships took place from August 19 to 22 on the streets of Baie-Comeau, Canada.

More than 500 athletes from more than 30 countries and regions competed in these World Championships for the gold, silver and bronze medal in their respective event.

On August 22, the last day of competition, Germany won the Mixed Road Relay event, almost two minutes ahead of the US. Switzerland finished third to win the bronze medal.

2010 UCI Road Para-cycling World Championships host Canada wins gold medal of the women's road race.

On the same day, the women's road race for the visually impaired athletes took place, with Canada's Robbie Weldon and pilot Lyne Bessette finishing first. Jayne Parsons and pilot Sonia Waddell from New Zealand came in second, closely followed by Genevieve Ouellet and pilot Emilie Roy from Canada.

The men's road race for the visually impaired saw Italy's Ivano and Luca Pizzi winning just one second ahead of Slovakia's Vladislav Janovjak and Robert Mitosinka. Krzystof Kosikowski and pilot Artur Korc from Poland finished third. (The End)
