GZ pledges smooth operation of info & telecommunication networks

Guangzhou, August 10 - Guangzhou pledged to safeguard a smooth operation of information and telecommunication networks for the upcoming November 12 - 27 Asian Games and December 12 - 19 Asian Para Games at a mobilisation meeting held on Monday morning.

Gong Erzhen, Leader of the safeguard group on information and telecommunication services for the Guangzhou Asian Games and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou Municipality attended the mobilisation meeting and delivered an inspiring speech. She said that all team members should be working closely and prepare themselves for the Games; showcase fruitful development of the "Digital Asian Games, Information Guangzhou" programme; expedite deployment of venue-based information systems; ensure operational effectiveness and integrated information services in compliance with information security standards during Games-time; organise rehearsals before the actual Games start and improve efficiency of responses;

Ms Gong also urged 16 teams related to the Games information and telecommunication services from the provincial and municipal levels to sign a pledge of responsibility.

Other officiating guests included officials from Science and Information Technology of Guangzhou, Information Technology & Telecommunications Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee, Guangdong Communications Administration, and Bureau of Public Security of Guangzhou Municipality.
