
May 24 - More than 250 athletes who attained the International Paralympics Committee World qualifying standards last month parade in Mombasa today (May 24) and Tuesday (May 25) for the national trials.
The championships, initially arranged to take place at Nyayo National Stadium on May 12 would be attended by athletes from all the eight province selected during the provincial championships.
"Over 250 athletes from all the eight provinces who met the IPC world qualifying standards during the Provincial trials will be fighting for slots to represent the country in the Africa Athletics Championship in June 12 - 18 in Casablanca, Morocco," KNPC Chairman Douglas Sidialo said in a press release.
The same team will compete in the Great Lakes Open Athletics Championships in August 21 - 27 at the Nyayo National Stadium.
