Guangzhou, May 14 - The preparation progress for Asian Para Games was announced at the press conference by Chen Xuejun, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee on the afternoon of May 12.
Chen Xuejun introduced that, at present the Asian Para Games has entered the venue operation phase and the beginning phase of preparatory work has been completed. At the same time the preparatory work of the competition organisations and medical classification is basically implemented, the 20 competition venues and seven training venues are identified, pre-competition programme for small events is organised, and the total and unit schedules are arranged.
From July 2010, test events for Asian Para Games will be launched, and by then, the five projects in goal ball, wheelchair tennis, table tennis, boccia, wheelchair basketball, etc. will fully integrate test facility inspection for the facilities of Asian Para Games (particularly barrier-free facilities) and its conversion, and the competition organisation and operation of information technology systems, personnel coordination, contingency plans and so on.
