In January, myvalleysports.com did a feature on Chelsi Figley, the East Palestine powerlifter born with Spina Bifida.

Four months later, Figley is preparing for the next step in her journey to the Paralympics 2012 in London. Last weekend, Figley qualified to make the Worlds Team, which will compete in Malaysia.

Figley needed a 137.5 to qualify. She opened with a 143, which set the stage for good results. If Figley does well in Malaysia, she will qualify for the Paralympics 2012.

"It's really a miracle that I didn't lose strength because we were really hitting a lot of road blocks," Figley said. (The End)
