Helping those with disabilities remain independent goes hand in hand with the daily mission of one of Arlington's premier charities - Helping Restore Ability. But it takes money to train and assign personal attendants to those in need, and that's why the annual Hand In Hand luncheon needs your support. Tickets are still available for the event, set for noon May 14 at North Davis Church of Christ, 1601 N Davis Drive.
As the keynote speaker, Paralympics gold medalist Lonnie Hannah will share his inspiring story. Hannah was a U.S. speed roller-skating national champion at age eight, and after an accident left him paralysed at age 20, he took up wheelchair tennis and later sled hockey, winning championships in both.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Amy Bia playing the guzheng.
