Caboolture runner Robbie Van Allen is training hard for a Paralympic talent search to be held at Nudgee College this month.
Van Allen returned from an encouraging showing at the men's National Open in Perth in April. He competed against the current world record holder in his events, as well as three Paralympians, and recorded a fifth and two thirds in the 100m, 200m and 400m heats respectively.

The results were not fast enough to put him in the finals. Robbie's mother Pippa Wiles said the experience had been good for Van Allen, a T20 disabled athlete.
"He did well to get there. His times were a bit down and I think the flying affected him," she said. "Had he done the times he had been doing, he would have made finals."
The Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) will conduct sporting tests to help identify future Paralympic talent.
The tests will be held at Nudgee College on May 16 and Ms Wiles said Van Allen would attend.
Ms Wiles said she wanted to thank Hog's Breath Cafe Morayfield and Caboolture Sports Club for sponsoring Van Allen. (The End)
