Guangzhou, April 29 - Tai Yan Yun (Hong Kong, China), Technical Delegate for Wheelchair Fencing of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games, visited Guangzhou on April 25. Kong Maosheng, Deputy Director of the Sports Department of the organising committee, officiated a meeting on venue inspection and preparations for the competition.

Guangda Gymnasium will hold the Wheelchair Fencing competition of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games.

Mr Tai paid a tour in the morning around Guangda Gymnasium in the Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Centre, accompanied by Mr Kong and representatives of relevant departments of the organising committee and the Guangzhou Asian Games Broadcasting Co., Ltd (GAB). The Wheelchair Fencing competition of the Games will be held in Guangda Gymnasium.
During the inspection, the different sides agreed on the cancellation of large-scale temporary construction projects, including a warm up area and other functional rooms planned to be built outside the gymnasium. The warm up area will be relocated into the gymnasium while other functional rooms will be set up in a newly-built sports building next to the venue, saving nearly RMB10,000,000.
Mr Tai, the Games organisers and venue operators held a meeting in the afternoon and specified the Games-time operation plan of Guangda Gymnasium.
