Representatives for GAGOC and GAPGOC presented the Guangzhou Asian Games Mascots - 5 Yang and the Guangzhou Asian Para Games- Fun Fun to those healees who have successfully recovered from leprosy, which also set off the Mascots Relay among leprosy rehabilitation centres/hospitals within the confines of Guangdong Province.

The organisers tended to invite rehabilitants of leprosy to share passion of the two Games and engage themselves in the experience of the world's largest continental sporting galas through the Mascots Relay. The campaign aims to improve mutual interaction and understanding, and finally create a harmonious community that respects equality and dignity, which could be the true illustration of "Cheer, Share, Win".

Healees from nursing homes staged fabulous performances with a number of volunteers, showing their positive and determined attitude towards addressing difficulties. Specialists from the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) also travelled to attend the event.

Through the Mascots Relay of the Guangzhou Asian Games and the Guangzhou Asian Para Games, local residents grasped a chance to eliminate stigma and prejudice against leprosy-related problems and wider public evolvement was evoked for the two Games around the whole community.
