Guangzhou, January 29 - More than 100 Games-time volunteers for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games, Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games and Shenzhen 2011 Universiade gathered in Guangdong's capital city last Friday to share exprience on volunteering for major sporting events. Meanwhile, a plaque awarding ceremony was held for the Guangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games Volunteer Training Base and 13 voluntary instructors were appointed.

Gu Shiyang, Deputy Secretary General of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC), attended the event with officials from GAGOC's Volunteers Department, including Deputy Director Wei Guohua, Deputy Director and badminton world champion Lin Yanfen as well as Deputy Director of the Recruitment & Deployment Office and badminton world champion Xie Xingfang.

The volunteer representatives hailed the gathering as a great opportunity to exchange vlunteer experience and put into practice the slogan of Guangzhou 2010's Volunteer Programme - "Together we can make it better!"
