Shangxiajiu in Liwan district sees the largest concentration of the most famous restaurants Guangzhou has to offer. Amongst these can be found a little old shop, unremarkable at first, but which happens to be oldest ice-cream producer in Guangzhou. Lv Shun first opened the shop in the 1920s and only sold home-made ice-creams. Using only fresh fruit and quality produces, his prices might be higher than the normal, but it hasn't turned customers away.
Shunji's coconut and mango ice-creams are the most famous and have won many prizes. His reputation is such that even distinguished foreign guests are taken to his shop. Today, the old shop has diversified its offer, proposing not only ice-creams and soft drinks, but also some local dishes like noodles and porridge.
