National Paralympic Committee of Zambia (NPCZ) will conduct a coaching course in wheelchair basketball on December 29 whose objective is to increase participation of persons with disabilities in sports at all levels.
NPCZ technical officer Paul Mwanza said that the coaching course set for National Sports Development Center (NASDEC) has being organised in partnership with the German Embassy and the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
He said the other objectives of the course would be to increase the capacity of partners to provide sports activities for disabilities.
Mwansa said the coaching course would also look at increasing the number of qualified coaches, classifiers, technical official and trainer of trainers as well as increase the number of schools' participation in disability sports.
He said the event would be graced by the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development Kenneth Chipungu.
NPCZ will send a team to the 2010 Commonwealth Games set for New Delhi, India from October 3 - 14. (The End)
