Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 23 – A delegation of the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee (GAPGOC), headed by Gu Shiyang, Deputy Secretary General of GAPGOC, attended the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) General Assembly and Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 19 to 22, upon invitation of Dato' Zainal Abu Zarin, President of the APC.

At the APC General Assembly on the afternoon of November 19, the GAPGOC delegation reported on its preparations for the 2010 Asian Para Games. Delegates from National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) of Asian countries and regions were satisfied with the preparation progress and GAPGOC's work plan for the next stage.
The GAPGOC delegation also presented the newly released Emblem, Mascot and Slogan of the Games to delegates of IPC member countries and regions.
IPC President Sir Philip Craven, IPC CEO Xavier Gonzalez and APC President Dato' Zainal Abu Zarin as well as officials of NPCs from across the globe visited the booth of the Guangzhou Asian Para Games and expressed their expectation for a most successful and memorable event in the history of Asian Para Games.
On the sidelines of the General Assemblies, the GAPGOC delegation had meetings with APC President Dato' Zainal Abu Zarin and IPC CEO Xavier Gonzalez and exchanged ideas on issues of the 2010 Asian Para Games, including the appointment of technical officials, disciplines and events, competition entry policies and procedures, topics to be discussed at the 2nd Meeting of APC Coordination Commission and preparations for the Chefs de Mission Seminar. The discussions have laid a solid foundation for GAPGOC's future preparations.
