Shunde Cuisine, one of the major types of Guangdong food, features natural freshness, abundant aquatic delicacies, and fine countryside and homey taste. It originates from Shunde city near Guangzhou in the heart of the Pearl River Delta.

If you want a try of Shunde flavor, Wumi Zhou Restaurant is an ideal place in Guangzhou for its authentic and interesting delicacies and serving, classically oriental décor, and reasonable price.
Its specialty is Shunde-style hot-pot with "Wumi Zhou" (Porridge without rice in), thick, fresh and mildly-tasty. It is served as sort of "base soup" to cook raw aquatic food, chicken, fish, vegetables, and meat balls, dip and serve - blending up fresh and comfortable flavor and warmth, a bit sweety.

Chicken, fish, clams, "Youtiao" (deep-fried dough sticks), seasoned rice with chicken oil, and Chencun Fen (rice noodle in Chen Village style) are the must-try while its meat balls are only mediocre.

The service is nice and attentive.
The restaurants are so popular to locals that you have to reserve a room quite early or wait for a vacant table without booking, especially its Tianhe Branch.
Its newly-opened Haizhu Branch is less crowded and easier to reserve a table. The ambience is cozy, with better partition for privacy and peace than its Tianhe branch.
