The newly-built Guangzhou railway station is even larger than the first terminal of the region's Baiyun Airport, and it contains 79,000 tons steel, 1.7 times more than the Bird's Nest Stadium. It's finally finished, after four and a half years, and passengers need only four hours to reach Guangzhou directly from Wuhan. The new facade of the station, soon to become the traffic hub which connects the most railways in China, is so modern that it looks like a space base torn from the pages of a science fiction novel.
