On behalf of the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) and the NPCC, Mr Jia expressed satisfaction with the preparations made by the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee (GAPGOC), promising that the CDPF and NPCC would continue to support GAPGOC's work. He requested all departments of GAPGOC to set high standards for the work ahead and spare no effort in hosting a successful Asian Para Games.
Mr Xu called on GAGOC and GAPGOC to dedicate themselves to the preparations for the Asian Games and Asian Para Games at the same time and share resources with each other. He emphasised that the Asian Para Games was as important as the Asian Games and that it would be a significant opportunity to promote the welfare of people with a disability.
A summary of the preparations for the Asian Para Games at the previous stage was made at the conference, where the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising (Preparation) Committee Work Outline was also formulated. The outline specified the preparations for the Asian Para Games ahead in a variety of respects, such as the structure of the organising committee, the competition work plan, the design and construction of venues and information systems as well as efforts to promote the Games.
The conference also worked out principles regarding the preparations for the Games and functional areas of different departments of the organising committee. Meanwhile, decisions were made on a number of landmark tasks, including the submission of the Games' emblem, mascot and slogans for approval, the launch of the Games' official website and the designation of the APC Headquarters Hotel.
